This year’s Frankfurt Motor Show was definitely one to remember. The Motor Show, which comes around once every two years is renowned for its status amongst the giants of the automotive world and once again was full of exciting surprises and revelations, especially from SEAT.
At the SEAT Press Conference, president Jürgen Stackmann took to the stage and delivered a speech that brought with it a lot of excitement and expectation.
From his confirmation of a SEAT SUV coming at the beginning of next year and the unveiling of the SEAT Leon Cross Sport to the announcement that SEAT plan to invest an incredible 3.3 billion euros in research and development over the next five years, there really was a lot to keep everyone’s eyes on SEAT at Frankfurt.
The latest show car, the SEAT Leon Cross Sport was one of the biggest highlights. The crossover concept is based on the SEAT Leon CUPRA and breaks convention, bringing sporty dynamic performance off road. The SEAT Leon Cross Sport takes the performance of a compact sports car and adds the versatility of an all-wheel drive, revolutionising the off road driving experience. In Jürgen Stackmann’s own words, this car is a “high performance athlete in trekking boots”. The exterior design befits this car’s athletic and adventurous attitude and its evocative shape is perfectly proportioned with clean lines cutting through taut surfaces.
Also presented for the first time at Frankfurt was the New SEAT Ibiza CUPRA, a sports car that promises to deliver a dynamic driving experience in the form of a 192hp TSI engine and the latest in in-car connectivity with Full Link Technology. The New SEAT Ibiza CUPRA has a dynamic design and high quality touches with chrome finishings.
Keeping things CUPRA, also present at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show was the SEAT Leon CUPRA with its 290hp engine. It epitomises power, performance and dynamics and with an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds it’s unsurprising this was a car that got its fair share of attention.
One huge highlight for car and tech fans alike was the unveiling of the new SEAT CONNECT range, a line that will be implemented across all SEAT models. In partnership with communications giant Samsung, the SEAT CONNECT line brings a whole new connected experience to the way people drive. Through the SEAT ConnectApp and Samsung Galaxy A3, a Smartphone that all CONNECT cars are equipped with, staying connected on the road is now more accessible, easier and safer than ever. This latest evolution marks a big step towards a more connected in-car experience from SEAT.
The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show has definitely been one of the most memorable Motor Shows of the year and has given us a lot to look forward to in the coming months from SEAT.
